Tata breathed his last at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday night, at around 11:30 PM, after being in intensive care since Monday.
Tata’s mortal remains were placed at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) lawns at Nariman Point for public viewing, where several dignitaries, business leaders, and citizens gathered to pay their final respects. Among those who personally paid tribute was Union Home Minister Amit Shah, representing the Government of India.
The final rites were held today at the Worli crematorium in Mumbai, conducted with full state honours in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the nation. The cremation ceremony saw an outpouring of grief and respect from across the nation, as Tata’s passing marks not just the loss of a business leader but a man who represented values, philanthropy, and the spirit of Indian enterprise.
