A Vistara flight from London to Delhi experienced a security scare on Wednesday when a bomb threat note was discovered in one of the aircraft’s lavatories. The incident occurred aboard flight UK 018, which was carrying approximately 290 passengers at the time.
According to sources, the crew noticed a piece of paper containing a bomb threat message while preparing for the flight’s arrival in the national capital. Following standard security protocols, the airline immediately notified the relevant authorities of the situation.
Upon landing safely at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, the aircraft was directed to an isolation bay for mandatory security checks. A spokesperson for Vistara stated that the airline fully cooperated with authorities throughout the investigation process.
“We noted a security concern during the flight and acted promptly in line with our protocols,” the spokesperson explained. “We ensured that all necessary security checks were completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
The Boeing 787 aircraft, which operated the flight, underwent thorough inspections to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew. Fortunately, no dangerous materials were found, and the passengers were unharmed. The airline expressed its commitment to maintaining high safety standards and prioritizing passenger security.
While the incident was alarming, Vistara’s swift response highlights the effectiveness of security measures in place to handle such threats. As air travel continues to evolve, ensuring passenger safety remains a top priority for airlines worldwide.
