Suryakumar Yadav and Team India arrive in Hyderabad with 3-0 series sweep vs Bangladesh in sight

Team India, led by captain Suryakumar Yadav, has arrived in Hyderabad for the third and final T20I against Bangladesh, with a clean 3-0 series sweep in sight. Having been dominant in the first two matches, India looks to finish the series on a high, sealing their authority over the visitors who have struggled to offer much resistance.

Homecoming for Nitish Reddy and Tilak Varma

The third T20I will be special for Nitish Kumar Reddy and Tilak Varma, both of whom hail from Hyderabad. Reddy, who has been one of the most exciting finds of the series, made a remarkable impact in his international debut, particularly in the second match where his all-round performance was key to India’s victory. His explosive batting and bowling have raised expectations for the young star.

While Reddy has already impressed, Tilak Varma, who plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, might get his chance to shine in front of his home crowd. Although he hasn’t featured in the first two games, India might look to rotate their squad with the series already won, giving Tilak an opportunity.

India’s Dominance in the Series

India’s dominance has been evident throughout the series. Despite early setbacks in the second T20I, where they were reduced to 45/3 in the powerplay, Nitish Reddy and Rinku Singh’s partnership turned the game in India’s favor. Reddy smashed a scintillating 74 off 34 balls, while Rinku contributed 53 off 29. Their 108-run partnership set the platform for India to post a daunting total of 221/9.

Bangladesh faltered in response, managing only 135/9 in their chase, with Reddy taking two wickets and the rest of India’s bowlers chipping in. India secured an emphatic 86-run victory, following up their commanding seven-wicket win in the first match, where Bangladesh were bowled out for 127 and India chased the target down in just 12 overs.

India’s Historic Winning Streak at Home

With these back-to-back victories, India extended their unbeaten run in T20I series at home to 16, a streak that dates back to 2019. This is the longest home-winning streak by any team in T20I history, twice as long as Australia’s 8-series streak from 2006 to 2010.

As the Indian team prepares for the final match in Hyderabad, fans are excited to see whether the young core, including Reddy, Tilak, and Rinku, will continue to shine and complete a clean sweep over Bangladesh, further solidifying India’s status as a powerhouse in T20I cricket.
